Finally something that isn't built around vanilla and sweetness. This is woody, resinous and slightly smoky. Feels very sophisticated.
Absolutely gorgeous scent! I can't wait for the cooler weather to come around in order to wear this every day!
The dry down is fantastic. The beginning is sharp and almost cold, then the amber and labdanum gradually make it warmer and more resinous. It really does evolve over several hours.
Beautifully done but definitely challenging. If you want something sweet and crowd pleasing, I would look elsewhere in the range. If you like incense, woods and darker niche fragrances, try Naya.
I wouldn't recommend blind buying Naya. It's quite uncompromising. Juniper, pepper, birch and incense make it dry and almost austere at first. Give it time though because the amber softens it beautifully.
The first spray is almost startling because the juniper and black pepper are so crisp. About half an hour later it becomes much warmer. I particularly like the fir balsam in the dry down.
Naya feels more like an atmosphere than a traditional perfume. Cold woods, smoke, incense, damp earth. I can't imagine wearing it on a hot beach, but in autumn it would be incredible.
This is the one I kept thinking about after trying the collection. It wasn't immediately my favourite, but it was the one I remembered the next day. There's something very unusual about it.
My husband and I both tried this and it smelled completely different on us. More incense and oud on him, more juniper and amber on me. Completely unisex in my opinion.
This smells like walking through a forest after rain, except there's incense burning somewhere in the distance. Very atmospheric. Probably not for everyone but that's exactly why I like it.
Naya is easily the darkest fragrance I've tried from the brand. The opening is cold and peppery and then you get incense and woods. Not remotely sweet, which I really appreciate.
